Text Font

txt-font

Sets the font family for a text overlay on video.

txt-font accepts a font family name. It defaults to sans-serif.

Unlike the Rendering API, the Video API does not accept the generic categories serif, monospace, cursive or fantasy — pass a specific font name instead. An unrecognized name falls back to the default rather than erroring.

Search the supported typefaces below. Each result previews the typeface, with non-Latin writing systems shown as a specimen in their own script. A few faces cannot be previewed and are labelled instead — they still work on video.

Note that the Video API and the Rendering API maintain separate font sets — most names work on both, but not all of them do, so this is the list to check rather than assuming a name carries over. Both lists sit side by side on the Supported Fonts reference page.

Use txt-font[N] to set the font for a specific text layer when using multiple layers.

For the full list of text overlay parameters, see the Text Overlays overview.
