AI rendering features can be disabled per source in the Imgix dashboard. See Advanced Settings → Render Settings for details.
URL Signing Recommended
We strongly recommend signing your URLs when using this feature. Without signing, anyone can apply AI edit transformations to your images using your source, which may result in unexpected usage and charges.
Imgix provides AI-powered image editing through a set of URL parameters. The ai-image-edit parameter accepts one of 32 named operation values spanning four categories: product and e-commerce cleanup, real estate and property staging, automotive backdrops, and general relighting. A companion parameter gives you additional control: ai-image-edit-analysis toggles a prepass vision gate that determines whether an edit is warranted before processing begins.
AI Image Edit is a credit-metered feature.
Product / E-Commerce
The product and e-commerce operations clean up product imagery for retail use. packaging corrects wrinkles, dents, and exposure on consumer goods packaging while protecting printed copy. white-background and drop-shadow isolate products on studio white. lifestyle-background places products in contextual scenes. wrinkle-removal-fabric smooths apparel without altering intentional draping. watch positions analog hands to the advertising-standard 10:10.
Real Estate & Property
Real estate and property operations improve listing photos without physical changes on site. clutter removes personal effects and tidies rooms. redecorate-empty reveals bare rooms for flexible presentation. Twelve redecorate-<style> values virtually stage interiors in styles from minimalist to farmhouse. Exterior operations include sunny-sky, green-lawn, fireplace-fire, pool-clarify, and exterior-clean.
Automotive
Automotive operations handle two common dealership needs: car-studio-background replaces the lot environment with a neutral studio backdrop, and car-paint-cleanup removes dust, water spots, and environmental reflections from paint, chrome, and glass without touching dents or scratches.
General Relighting
General relighting operations alter the ambient lighting of a scene without changing its subjects or composition. lighting applies neutral corrections. night, day, golden-hour, and blue-hour apply stylized time-of-day transformations.
