Video VFX Chromatic Aberration
video-vfx-chromatic-aberration
Splits the red and blue color channels and offsets them, with the split widening toward the frame edges.
video-vfx-chromatic-aberration accepts an integer from 0 to 100. 0 is off (default). Higher values produce a wider channel split. Out-of-range or non-numeric values are coerced to 0 rather than rejected.
| Value | Effect |
|---|---|
0 | Off (default) |
15 – 35 | Lo-fi or analog edge; subtle fringing |
50 – 80 | Overt glitch or RGB-split music-video look |
100 | Maximum split |
The split widens toward the frame edges (the way a real lens fringes), leaving the center of the frame cleanest. This is resolution-aware — the same dial gives the same perceptual look whether you render a 1080p master or a small GIF.
The compose order is chromatic aberration → film grain → bloom → halation → vignette. It applies first — grain and other effects are added on top of the already-split frame.
