Drop Shadow Pose
drop-shadow-pose
The drop-shadow-pose parameter tells a cast shadow how the subject was photographed, from 0 to 90 degrees. It defaults to 90.
90 means a standing subject seen from the front — a bottle, a person, a box on a table. 0 means a flat-lay shot from directly above, where the subject has no height to cast a shadow from. Values in between describe a camera tilted somewhere between the two.
Getting this wrong is the usual reason a cast shadow looks unconvincing: a flat-lay photo given the default 90 casts a shadow as though the subject were standing up out of the frame.
drop-shadow-mode=ai estimates the pose from the photograph instead, which is right on most images and worth overriding by hand when it is not.
It is read only by drop-shadow-type=cast, and values are clamped to 0-90.
