Focal Point Y

fp-y

Sets the vertical position of the focal point for a fit=crop crop, as a fraction of the frame height. The crop window slides to center on this point, clamping at the edges so it never runs off-frame.

fp-y accepts a float from 0.0 (top edge) to 1.0 (bottom edge). The default is 0.5 (centered). Requires crop=focalpoint to be set — a bare fp-y without the focalpoint trigger is ignored and the crop stays centered.

fp-y=0 is equivalent to crop=top; fp-y=1.0 is equivalent to crop=bottom. Use fp-y when you need a position between the compass endpoints, for example to keep a subject’s face at 30% from the top.
