Reflection Color

reflection-color

The reflection-color parameter tints the surface the subject is reflecting in. It accepts any color Imgix accepts, and by default the surface is untinted.

The alpha controls how strong the tint is, so 80000000 gives black acrylic and 40ffffff a milky white surface. Tinting is what makes the floor read as a material rather than as a mirror: a product on black acrylic looks staged, the same product on an untinted mirror looks like a rendering.

A color that cannot be parsed leaves the surface untinted and is left out of the X-Imgix-Params response header.
